I haven’t run in three weeks- here’s why

Since the 17th of December I haven't run or played any sports. Last week I got back into the gym for the first time to lift weights.

Here's why:

On a hiking and biking trip I ended up falling off my bike. I had to get 12 stitches in my knee to close the wound.

 


My goal was to complete my first half marathon by mid-January, which has now become next to impossible.

However, the way to overcome this is by setting new, realistic goals to restart running and improve my fitness. By the end of January I aim to be running 10km, and by late February the aspiration of the half marathon should be achievable.
